Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Tuesday 20th February - All 22 seen

The fifteen original cows were all back together and were lying down resting in the area around ///cattle.bowls.attic at 12:30 this afternoon.  They were all relaxing and chewing their cud.  Some had made beds out of the bracken and were looking very cosy.  They were all happy and looking well.

The Surrey Fire Brigade was training behind where the cows were lying, close to the gorse bushes that got burnt a couple of weeks ago.  They soon left and went to Horse Pond.

The seven Sussex cows were grazing in the area around ///bends.drank.giraffes at 13:10.  They were eating lots of gorse and heather.  Steer 197 was giving his back a good scratch against the branches of a tree.  Steer 210 came over and said hello and gave my hand a few licks.  They were all happy, relaxed and looking well.

The cows were all good today.
