Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 19th September - All 24 seen

Steers 30 and 33, along with cows 72, 214 and 940, were relaxing and chewing their cud under the trees at the Lookout at 16:45 this afternoon. A refreshing breeze was keeping them cool. Steer 21 was under a nearby tree to the west, snacking on berries. All the cows appeared happy and healthy.

Sussex steer 1626 was busy wrestling with the branches near ///once.pretty.bluffing at 17:15. He was enjoying plenty of leaves. The other six Sussex cattle were in the wooded area to the east, also feeding on leaves from trees and bushes. Cow 211 was foraging widely, hunting for mushrooms. All seven cattle were doing well.

Steers 35, 227, 228, 230, 270 and 271, along with cow 234, were spread out grazing on both sides of the path near ///electric.lilac.hosts on Sandy Hill at 17:40. They were enjoying lots of grass in the last of the afternoon sun. They all looked happy and healthy.

Unfortunately, there were motorbikes on Caesar's Camp again today. I encountered one near ///scar.happily.mouths as I climbed the hill from Longbottom. The rider left the site soon after, but later, I could hear more bikes in the area. As with yesterday, I reported this to the MoD Ops Room.

The final group, steers 217, 219, 220 and 222, were grazing near ///roses.pokes.ounce at 17:55. They followed the track up the hill, grazing as they went. All four were happy, relaxed and looking well.

The cows were all good today.
