Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 1st September - All 25 seen

Steer 30 was wrestling with some tree branches near ///icons.foal.duos at 10:15 this morning. He was enjoying a hearty breakfast of leaves. Meanwhile, cows 72 and 940, along with steer 35, were eating a bit further along the track to the southwest. They were all looking well.

At 10:35, the seven Sussex cattle were climbing the hill near ///tutored.blown.farm. Once they reached the top, several of them came over to greet me. Cow 211 was especially friendly, giving me several head rubs before enjoying a back scratch. After a while, they all wandered off to the south.

The fourteen Caesar's originals were gathered around the Lookout at 10:45. Some were lying in the shade under the trees, while most preferred to relax in the sunshine and chew their cud. Steer 220 and yearlings 270 and 271 were initially munching on grass, but soon settled down to rest. Meanwhile, older steers 21 and 33 were enjoying the heather to the southwest.

Older steer 20 was doing well, lying down and resting in the sunshine. He appeared relaxed and was chewing his cud. At 11:25, he got up and moved to stand under the trees. I took a few photos of his injury, which I'll share with the Grazing Team tomorrow.

When I left at 11:45, all fourteen cattle were standing under the trees at the Lookout. There was a pleasant breeze that was keeping them cool. At noon, four of the Sussex cattle were lying down and relaxing in the heather near ///tend.husky.loosed by James Bond pond. The other three were grazing nearby.

The cows were all good today.
