Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Saturday 31st August - All 25 seen - new photo of steer 219's eye below

Fourteen of Caesar's originals were grazing in the pasture near ///delusions.stag.states at 09:50 this morning. They were enjoying plenty of long grass, leaves and heather. After a while, they all lay down to relax and chew their cud. They were very friendly and came over to say hello. They were all happy, relaxed and looking well.

The graze on steer 230's side has nearly disappeared. Steer 219 enjoyed a long head rub before allowing me to take a photo of his eye, which I've included below. Steer 20 was doing well today. His wound appears to be closing. He was happily grazing before having a grooming session with youngster 222. After that, he lay down and started to relax.

At 10:35, cow 72 and steer 30 had completely hidden themselves in the bracken near ///stoppage.snored.hints. Cow 940 was lying next to them, having made a bed from the heather. Steer 35 was grazing nearby, and his injury is healing nicely. All four were doing well.

The seven Sussex cattle were lying down together near ///luckier.polka.inkjet, just along from the Lookout at 10:45. Cow 211 was lying on her side, snoozing. Steers 197 and 210 were also resting their eyes. The other four cattle were relaxing and chewing their cud. All the Sussex cattle appeared happy and relaxed.

The cows were all good today and looked great, which is why there are so many photos of them.
