Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 25th August - All 25 seen

Cows 214 and 234 were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud beside the pill box on Sandy Hill at 10:05 this morning. Steers 219, 220, 270 and 271 were all grazing close by. They were all happy, relaxed and looking well. The seven Sussex cows plus steer 35 were spread out munching on the grass growing at the base of the bracken around ///darker.lads.amps at 10:30. Several of the Sussexes came over to say hello. Cow 211 was very friendly and gave me some gentle head rubs and licks before enjoying a back rub. The remaining eleven cows were all found in the area surrounding the sandy bowl at the Royal Pavilion end of the site at 11:00. Youngster 227 was enjoying lots of fresh grass from one of the islands in the warm sunshine. He came and said hello and enjoyed a neck rub. Cow 72 plus steers 20, 222 and 230 were all happily grazing at the edge of the trees around ///dive.tags.legal. Cow 940 plus steers 21, 30, 33, 217 and 228 were all grazing among the trees on the other side of the path. They were all good. All six cows from the first group were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud at the side of the pill box when I saw them again at 11:45. There was no change in youngster 219's eye today. He was really getting bothered by the flies again this morning, more so than the other cows. It appears that they are constantly gathering in his eyes. He was fine with me sitting right beside him for a while, which kept the majority of them at bay.

The cows were all good today.
