Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Sunday 11th August - All 25 seen

    Youngsters 217, 219, 220, 222, 227, 228 and 230 plus yearlings 270 and 271 were all grazing in the area around ///mild.wipes.cage at 11:20 this morning.  Most were eating in the shade among the trees.  They were all friendly and said hello.  Steer 227 took a break and enjoyed a long back rub while standing, chewing his cud.  The boys were all good today.

    The seven Sussex cattle were found among the trees around ///school.cove.noisy at noon.  Five were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud.  Cow 1396 was initially standing, but soon lay down to rest.  Steer 1626 was grazing in the thicket to the east.  Youngsters 219 and 230 came and lay down in the trees to west at the start of the wooded area.

    At 12:15, steer 30 came wandering along the path from the north.  He mooed a couple of times as he arrived.  Steer 33 and cow 234 were found grazing among the thicket on the other side of the path around ///herbs.mops.fled.  Cow 214 was standing with the seven other steers from the first group under the trees close by.

    Steer 20 and cows 72 and 940 were found resting in the cow shed at 12:35.  Steers 21 and 35 were in the shade under the trees on the far side of the little wooden bridge.  They were all well.

    The cows were all good today.
