Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 18th August - All 25 seen

I took advantage of the nice weather and went looking for cows again later this afternoon. I quickly found the seventeen that I had found earlier at 16:40. They were spread out from Sussex steers 197, 210, 1626 and 1640 lying down and chewing their cud at the far west end of Sandy Hill to steers 227, 228 and 271 plus cow 214 all taking a drink from James Bond pond. Several of the cows were happily grazing in the pasture to the southwest of the pond.
I found the eight missing steers in the bushes across the path from the northeast corner of James Bond pond around ///change.comedy.spill at 17:20. Most were lying down and relaxing while chewing their cud. Yearling 270 was initially standing, but soon lay down. While it was actually nice and cool in the bushes, the boys were still attracting a lot of flies. There was no change to the pink spot in the corner of youngster 219's eye. Sadly, there were a lot of flies around his eyes again today. The boys were all looking well.

The cows were all good today.
