Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 14th August - All 25 seen

It’s 15:26 by the water tower where there are 4 Shetland steers taking rest and 2 British Whites without trackers (214 Guinevere and 234 Gangsta) are standing in the thickets using the smaller branches to clean their face. They look to be resting it is very hot today. A chinnok flew low directly over and frightened them, 3 steers got up and went to hide in the thickets, the other 3 walked away and got a drink from nearby puddles. They looked calm when I left them.

The next group are 7, near Bourley lake ///gloom.drops.knee made up of 6 Sussex Reds (which included the one that slipped his collar) and the one pictured below (to add). They are all calm in the shade of the pine trees, right next to the film location so probably waiting to see some filming. I left them at 16:15 they looked happy standing moving and eating as they went along the field.

I was curious to go find Brie and the last group of 12 as they had stayed in the same location most of the day near the dome covered reservoir. Brie was with a group of 9 and they looked sleepy most lying down under trees ///expensive.remarried.cleansed. And then there were 3 including the last Sussex Red that had decided to find a lovely shady spot with a cool breeze ///rejoiced.slipped.helped. I left them at 17:00 it’s been a really hot day and they are all good taking shelter under trees.
