Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 7th August - All 25 seen

It’s 13:00 and a group of 12 have crossed the Nofence over by James Bond pond, there is 1 cow left who is by the waters' edge. Will observe. 13:10 the last cow crossed the nofence unharmed is joining the others. 13:41 Two groups have joined to make 16 they include 2 Sussex Reds. All are very calm today, walking along and eating.

Found 2 cows without trackers //major.pity.oval heading west, leading the remaining group

Lots of flies on this Sussex reds' face
These 2 were pushing each other as they went by me, nothing to serious though
Then same cow darted down a steep bank, I had a look, she looks to be standing on a plastic bag, I think she had tried to eat it, and it's too far in the thicket for me to get collect it //cracking.passports.bribing
The group including the remaining 5 Sussex Reds were standing under the trees by //cracking.passports.bribing when I left at 15:00 today. I noticed on my way past Sandy Hill that there are fresh cow pats, so there must be a rogue one getting through the Nofence.
