Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 28th August - All 25 seen

    It’s 13:00 I’m with cows near Hungry Hill ///dispensed.shirtless.fenced 2 groups today.

A Sussex Red steer is with 3 other steers in the field grazing away, it’s started to rain so I’m standing under trees with cows. 222 is with me having neck rubs and looking good, 228 has come over for a hello

The suns out it’s stopped raining now 13:18 cows are back to grazing, there are 2 cows across the path grazing nearby, and now 2 more including steer 020 have appeared from the thickets who is bellowing, don’t know why ///escape.crawled.trinkets so I’m moving away from 222. I’ve left 8 for now going to find Brie.

13:41 ///locked.dollar.choice the royal pavilion 13 cows (no Brie) here including,  2 collarless Whites sitting with 5 Sussex Reds. There’s the collarless Sussex Red grazing outside the Nofence, he’s slowly making his way back as I’ve gone over to see him, maybe not he’s turned back.

///shut.radar.safety There is broken glass here by the cows sitting under trees I’ll come back to collect

I’m leaving now 14:18 some are taking shelter as it's raining again the collatress Red is still grazing outside nofence.

///swordfish.jazz.initial I found brie 14:33 oh dear she’s eating acorns from a tree she is with 3 BW and a White, the nofence is not tracking one of them possibly because they are sheltering under trees in the rain. She’s left the tree and crossed path to next field hopefully she won’t go back for anymore acorns. It’s 14:48 rain has eased I’m heading to Horse pond the group I saw early is there now.

15:00 6 at horse pond sheltering from rain and 2 in the gorse I can't get to them, 15:15 leaving now the cows are moving back towards Brie.

All look well some moving eating and others napping.
