Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 22nd April - All 17 seen

Youngster 226 was grazing in the area around the pillbox on Sandy Hill at 10:50 this morning.  She ended up going into it, but I encouraged her out as it was full of rubbish and broken glass.  I picked up a load of broken glass in the surrounding area, worried about the cow's feet.   Older cow 30 was munching in the gorse bushes alongside the pillbox.

Older cow 33 and youngster 222 were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud close by.  Youngster 220 was happily munching on the growing grass.

A mixed group of ten cows were huddled together, lying down in the area around ///splints.grades.placed at 11.15.  They were all resting and were alternating between chewing their cud and snoozing.  Older cow 72 was standing amongst them chewing her cud but soon lay down.  Older cow 20 had his head over the fence line munching on holly leaves.

The cows were all good today.
