Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Sunday 30th April - All 17 seen (eventually)

Cows 72, 213, 217, 219, 220, 222, 228 and 230 were all grazing amongst the trees and bushes on Hungry Hill at 15:40 this afternoon.  After eating for a while, they all slowly descended the side of the hill, grazing as they came.

Older cows 20, 21, 30, 33, 35 and 940 plus youngster 221 were all munching on grass at the bottom of Hungry Hill in the area around ///coping.styled.flap at 16:00.

After a while, the cows all crossed over the path into the central overgrown area and headed off grazing towards the Royal Pavilion end of the site.  There was no sign of youngsters 226 or 235 in any of the surrounding areas.

By 17:40 the seven older cows plus youngster 213 were found grazing in the thicket around ///hunt.surely.cling.  The seven other youngsters had gone off on their own and were found grazing in the area around ///straw.gashes.dives at 18:10.

I eventually found youngsters 226 and 235 at 18:25.  They appeared from the side of the path that goes up to the Lookout, and had obviously been busy grazing in the thicket under the Lookout.  Youngster 235 came wandering over, said hello and went back to grazing with youngster 226.  They were completely unaware that I had been worried about them :-).

The cows were all good today.
