Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 16th April - All 17 seen

The cows were still in the same two groups as yesterday.

Youngsters 213 and 228 were lying down resting in the area around ///rant.stays.ladder at 10:00 this morning.  Youngsters 217, 221, 222, 228 and 230 were grazing and playing close by.  Older cows 21 and 35 were also initially grazing but quickly lay down.   Older cow 20 was enjoying some alone time and was lying down relaxing around ///healers.patrolled.marbles.  By 10:20 all the cows were lying down.

Youngsters 219, 226 and 235 were munching on gorse at the side of the path around ///rant.game.crunching at 10:40.  Cows 30, 33 and 72 were grazing in the area behind them.  Cow 940 was lying down chewing her cud around ///wreck.deputy.birds a short while later.  The others slowly made their way to where she was lying.  They continued to graze for a bit before they started to lie down too.

I wandered past the group of ten again at 11:40 and they were all still lying down, relaxing and either chewing their cud or snoozing.

The cows were all good today.
