Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 8th April - All 17 seen

Youngsters 219, 221 and 222 were grazing in the area around ///sensitive.filled.overt at 10:30 this morning. A mixed group of thirteen were a bit further along at their favourite Sandy Hill corner. Some were standing chewing their cud while others were enthusiastically munching on grass in the sunshine.
The missing youngster 230 came wandering along the top of Sandy Hill at 11:20. I've no idea where he'd been, as I'd walked the length of the hill searching for him, including in the gorse bushes. As the others got into sight, he started mooing as he walked. By 11:45 cows 35, 217, 220, 221, 222, 226 and 228 were all lying down together in a group, relaxing and chewing their cud. Older cow 30 was lying down close by. The cows were all good today. On a few, I noticed that their winter coats were beginning to thin out.
