Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Happy Easter!

Cows 20, 35, 213, 217, 226, 230 and 940 were grazing just along from the Lookout in the area around ///flagging.laptop.intro at 10:15 this morning.  They all quickly lay down and started to chew their cud in the sunshine.  Youngsters 219 and 222 were grazing further along towards the Lookout, and were getting themselves into some rather precarious positions trying to find the tastiest grass.

At 10:40, cows 21, 33, 221, 228 and 235 came wandering along the path from the direction of ///cashiers.trees.flying.  They made their way over to where the seven cows were resting and lay down, except for youngster 235 who started to graze in the heather.

The other three, cows 30, 72 and 220, were grazing at the bottom of the Lookout slope in the area around ///fishery.graph.slings.  While an unusual place for them to be, they certainly seemed to be happy, and were finding plenty to eat.

The cows were all good today.
