Sussex steer 210, along with cows 211, 212, and 1396, were happily grazing near ///cult.sticking.frail, northeast of the covered reservoir, at 10:00 this morning. Steers 197 and 1640 were closer to the reservoir, munching on gorse in the swampy area. All six were happy, relaxed and looking well.
At 10:25, steers 21 and 222 were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud near ///takes.toenail.tacky, southwest of the Lookout. Youngster 230 was standing nearby, and thoroughly enjoyed a shoulder and back rub. Steers 30, 35, 217, 220, 227, and 271, along with cows 72 and 940, were grazing on gorse, heather, and grass in the surrounding area. Gradually, they wandered over to settle beside the boys. All eleven were happy and healthy.
While heading towards the final group, I came across steer 20 near ///corn.paler.iceberg at 11:10. He had become separated from his group after lingering too long in the gorse bushes on Sandy Hill. Despite my attempts to persuade him to follow me, he set off down the hill toward Longbottom.
The final group of seven cows was grazing in the gorse bushes at the west end of James Bond Pond near ///rejected.full.quail at 11:20. They all emerged from the bushes to say hello, with several enjoying strokes and back rubs. They were all content and looking well.
At 11:45, steer 20 wandered in from the southwest, mooing multiple times as he arrived. He had done a large loop trying to find his group. He was perfectly fine though and soon settled in to graze.
The cows were all good today.
