Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Wednesday 5th March - All 25 seen

All eighteen members of the Caesar's original herd, along with Sussex steer 1626, were gathered near ///woven.exactly.doses at 15:10 this afternoon. Most were lying in the bracken, relaxing and chewing their cud. Occasionally, they would get up to stretch before settling back down. A few were dozing in the warm sunshine, while older cow 72 enjoyed plenty of heather to the west. All nineteen cattle were happy, relaxed, and looking well.

Shortly before 16:00, they began to rise and slowly wander west, with many stopping for a refreshing drink from puddles along the path.

At 16:25, the six other Sussexes were grazing near ///bigger.extent.mull, close to the northwest corner of James Bond Pond. They were all very friendly and came over to greet me, with several enjoying some scratches. After a while, they climbed the bank into the pasture north of the pond, where they feasted on heather. They were looking stunning in the setting sun. As they gradually moved east, they were happy to receive back rubs while grazing. All six were content and in good health.

I said my goodbyes around 17:20. As I was leaving, I spotted the group of nineteen grazing near the southeast corner of James Bond Pond. It seemed likely that both groups were on course to reunite soon.

The cows were all good today.
