Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 20th March - All 25 seen

Yearling 271 and the six Sussexes were grazing among the gorse bushes to the west of the water tower, near ///deeds.package.type, at 10:25 this morning. Meanwhile, youngsters 217, 220, 227, and 230 were grazing among the trees to the north, near ///nerves.coach.feast. Steers 227 and 230 were particularly friendly, coming over to say hello and thoroughly enjoying long back rubs. All eleven were happy, relaxed, and in good health.

At 11:10, steers 21, 30, 35, and 222 were contentedly grazing on the heather in the pasture northwest of James Bond Pond, near ///fearfully.blip.graced. They were all happy and looking well.

The final group of ten had been relaxing in the trees southwest of the Sandy Bowl at 11:55, but were on the move when I caught up with them. They soon reached the grassy patch east of the Sandy Bowl, where they rested for a while in the glorious sunshine. After some time, they wandered into the shade of the trees to graze but soon returned returned to the sunshine. Most eventually settled down to rest and chew their cud, while others continued to enjoy the fresh grass. They were all happy and healthy.

Cow 234's collar was half hanging off, with the chain caught in front of her right ear. She seemed bothered by it and was more than happy for me to approach and adjust it. She appeared much more comfortable afterwards.

The cows were all good today.
