Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 17th June - All 15 seen

Cows 21, 33, 217 and 270 were grazing in the thicket around ///taskbar.heavy.skips close to the cow shed at 09:45 this morning.  Youngster 219 was standing under the shade of some trees on the far side of the small foot bridge.  He soon had a good scratch against a tree before going off to graze with the other four.

Cows 30, 72, 222, 228, 230 and 940 were all initially standing in the cow shed, relaxing and chewing their cud.  Older cow 20 was standing outside the shed doing the same.  Youngsters 222 and 230 soon wandered off to graze with the others.  The remaining cows soon started to lie down and rest in the shed.

Older cow 35 and youngster 220 were hiding under a large tree and amongst bushes close to the cow shed.  They were relaxing and chewing their cud.  They soon came out, with cow 35 going over to the cow shed and cow 220 wandering off to graze.

I was searching for the missing yearling 271 when I heard two super loud moo's (I was stunned that such a small cow could moo that loudly 😃).   I wandered over in that general direction and found him coming through the thicket close to the bushes where cows 35 and 220 had been standing.  He was completely fine and went off grazing with the other cows.

The cows were all good today.
