Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 18th June - All 15 seen

Cows 20 and 21 were busy grazing in the area around ///provide.snows.graph at 09:15 this morning.   Cow 72 was having a scratch, rubbing her head against a tree.  Once she was done, she stood and chewed her cud in the same spot.

The other twelve were all lying down resting and were either chewing their cud or having a snooze.  They would occasionally get up and have a little stretch, before repositioning and lying back down.  There were a lot of flies around again today.  Cow 219 had completely buried himself in some bracken but was happily chewing his cud.  Once cow 20 had finished grazing, he too lay down in amongst the bracken, trying his best to hide himself.   The cows were all happy and very relaxed, despite the heat and high humidity.

As I was leaving the cows at just after 10:00, most had got up and were standing huddled together under the shade of the tree that cow 72 was standing at.  They were relaxing and chewing their cud.  Youngster 228 and yearlings 270 and 271 had wandered along to the tree at ///surround.greet.promote and were doing the same.

The cows were all good today.
