Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Tuesday 20th June - All 15 seen

The seven older cows plus youngster 230 were all found around ///ounce.shell.square at 16:40 this afternoon.  Cows 20, 30, 33, 35 and 940 were all lying down resting and chewing their cud.  Cows 21, 72 and 230 were happily munching on fresh grass.  They were all very relaxed and looking well.

The other seven, youngsters 217, 219, 220, 222 and 228 plus yearlings 270 and 271, were found in the trees at the side of Horse Pond around ///hazy.scooter.good a while later.  They were trying their best to hide from the many flies who were bothering them.  Initially, they were standing and chewing their cud, but soon started to lie down and relax.

It was good that we finally had some overnight rain, and there were some puddles to dodge while wandering around the site.  However, it was still rather warm and muggy, which seemed to bring out the flies.

The cows were all good today.
