Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 10th November - All 19 seen

A mixed group of twelve cows were spread out foraging for acorns under the trees along the side of the main path around ///chew.doll.small at 13:30 this afternoon.  The older cows among them would occasionally take a break and go munch on some long grass and heather.  Older steer 21 and youngster 230 were doing the same a bit further along under the trees around ///hook.scorch.recliner.

Older cow 72, youngsters 217 and 220 plus yearling 270 were all hunting for acorns on the other side of the path under the trees around ///tester.having.wing.  They were all having some success.

Youngster 227 was by himself, lying down and chewing his cud under a tree around ///cracks.poetic.frogs at 14:10.  He had found a lovely spot and was relaxing in the sunshine.   While unusual for him to be alone, he seemed fine and was happy for me to sit with him for a while.

The other eighteen cows had congregated in the area around ///fuel.spirit.upon by 14.30.   They had started to lie down and relax.

The cows were all good today.
