Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 4th November - All 19 seen

Cows 21, 30, 33, 72, 214, 222 and 228 were standing relaxing and chewing their cud in the area around ///piled.reply.admit at 11.50 this morning.  They were a bit damp but drying out in the sunshine.  Older cows 20 and 940 plus yearling 271 were busy grazing beside them.  Youngster 227 was munching on gorse deep in a bush alongside.  He soon came out to say hello.

As I was checking them, I heard some mooing in the distance, so wandered back out to the main track and saw youngster 220 in the distance heading away from the rest of the cows. I called him, and he quickly wandered back to me.  I led him back into the enclave where the other eleven cows were located, and he was re-united with the group at 12:10.  No idea why he keeps on getting separated from the others.

Youngsters 215 and 219 plus yearling 270 were all lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud around ///factory.studs.ordinary at 12.35.  Youngster 217 was lying down, resting his eyes behind them.  Youngster 234 was munching on gorse close by.  She wandered back to the others and decided she wanted to lie down beside cow 215 so pushed yearling 270 out of the way.  He soon lay back down and continued to chew his cud.

After searching for the other two for a while, I caught sight of youngster 230 in the distance, all the way down near Bourley Road from the Lookout.  I wandered down and found him hunting for acorns around ///folders.gong.swanky at 13.30.   Older steer 35 was fairly close by around ///heavy.dogs.sized also foraging for acorns.  Youngster 230 soon wandered down and joined steer 35.  They were a long way from the other two groups of cows.

The cows were all good today.
