Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Tuesday 7th November - 18 seen - contractors clearing scrub near James Bond pond

Cows 20, 30, 72, 214, 271 and 940 were found grazing around ///skills.sizing.adoptors at 07:20 this morning.  They were all having some breakfast while slowly heading west.  Youngster 214 wandered off and started foraging for acorns under one of the trees.

The group of five, youngsters 215, 217, 219, 234 and yearling 270, were all still together.  They were foraging for acorns under the trees around ///ordeals.mugs.bills at 07:40.  After a bit, they started to climb the hill to go munching on some heather.  They were all happy and looking well.

Steers 21, 33, 220 and 227 were spread out grazing amongst the thicket around ///trip.saddens.offices at 08:00.   They were all eating leaves, gorse and heather.  Cow 940 and yearling 271 had made it to the same area.

I started to hear some mooing in the distance, so wandered up to the top of the hill and met some Wildscapes contractors who were about to start clearing and burning some of the scrub in the area around ///lonely.unwraps.curve.  They had attracted an audience, with cows 72, 222 and 228 all particularly interested in the visitors.   The cows continued to moo, which resulted in youngster 230 appearing from the tree covered path to the east of James Bond pond.  He slowly made his way to them but not before stopping to munch on some heather in the sunshine.  More cows had joined the group by this point, but they quickly decided to go off grazing.

Despite a good search for steer 35., I wasn't able to find him today.   The other cows were all good.
