Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 16th November - All 19 seen

Cows 30, 33, 35, 72, 219, 220, 222 and 940 were all found at the west end of Sandy Hill in the area around ///shins.horses.ghost at 15:05 this afternoon.  They were all either munching on grass or standing, chewing their cud.  Despite being rather wet, they were all happy and relaxed.

The other eleven cows were all climbing up the side of Sandy Hill on the path to the west of their favourite corner at 15:25.  After completing the climb, the cows stopped briefly to rest before wandering off to graze the pasture opposite the corner.  Youngsters 227 and 230 plus yearling 271 were all grazing in the thicket on both sides of the path before climbing up and joining the others.  This group seemed happy enough, despite being rather damp.

Youngster 227 appeared fully recovered today.  He was grazing in the gorse bushes on the way up the hill, the steep incline causing him to put his full weight on his back legs.  He also climbed to the top of the hill with no issues before stopping to say hello and to get a head rub.

The cows were all good today.
