Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 12th November - All 19 seen

Steers 20, 21 and 33 were grazing in the area around ///rigid.stolen.bundles at 10.30 this morning.  Gypsy (steer 227) was in the gorse bushes behind them, but soon came out to say hello and get a head rub.  After a bit, he started to graze.  He was still walking very gingerly and wasn't putting his full weight on his rear left leg, but was definitely walking better than yesterday.  It was great to see he was up and about and eating.

A mixed group of eleven cows were together in the area around ///envoy.takes.logs at 10.50.  Nine were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud.  Youngsters 214 and 228 were initially standing together, but soon lay down amongst the group.  They were all looking good.

The final four were found down at the Shell garage end of the site at 11:25.  Steers 35, 222 and 270 were standing chewing their cud at ///sung.crusaders.jams.  Youngster 230 was lying down and resting around ///dripping.permit.dumps.  For reasons unknown, he was as a lot wetter than the other cows.

It was very endearing to see that the three older steers had stayed with Gypsy overnight and were walking ahead and waiting for him to catch up today.  All four had made it to the area around ///robe.points.column by 11:40 where they continued to graze.

It was nice to meet new looker Zia and also John and Betty from the Foxlease site who were out walking with friends.

Gypsy was better today than yesterday and the other sixteen cows were all good.
