Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Thursday 10th October - All 25 seen - steer 219 still has the ulcer in his left eye

Steers 21, 30, 217, 228 and 270, along with cows 234 and 940, were grazing among the bramble at the Royal Pavilion end of the site near ///latest.gear.riots at 16:20. Youngster 228 and older steer 30 wandered off to enjoy some leaves from nearby trees and bushes. They were all looked happy, relaxed and in good health.

At 16:55, the seven Sussex cattle, along with steer 219, were standing together, resting under the trees near ///readjust.sparks.fiery. They were relaxing, chewing their cud. Cow 211 came over to say hello and enjoyed a long back and neck rub. Meanwhile, steers 33 and 230 were grazing in the nearby  thicket. All ten were doing well, though steer 219 still had the ulcer in the corner of his left eye (photo below).

Steers 20, 220 and 222, along with cow 72, were found grazing a bit further east near ///amuse.nets.caused at 17:10. They were enjoying plenty of grass and looked happy and healthy.

The final group, cow 214 and steers 35, 227 and 271, were grazing in the thicket near ///squirted.cafe.tablet at 17:30. Interestingly, yearling 271's tracking collar was working today, which was helpful. Cow 214 and steer 227 were both very friendly, coming over for long back rubs. This group was happy, relaxed and doing well.

The cows were all good today.
