Steers 217, 219, 220, 230 and 270 were relaxing and chewing their cud near ///boots.inches.froth at 15:30 this afternoon. Yearling 271 was grazing nearby. They were all very friendly, coming over to greet me, with youngster 230 enjoying a back rub. The boys were all looking good. Nearby, steers 227, 228 and 1640, along with cow 214, were munching in the thicket around ///smart.gold.admits. They also came over to say hello. As I was leaving, all ten started to follow me, but the temptation of leaves from the trees soon distracted them, and they stopped to eat.
At 16:05, cow 940 was grazing at the top of the hill near ///grand.enjoys.pill, while steers 20 and 33 munched on gorse in the bushes nearby. Steer 222 and cow 234 were deeper in the thicket near ///rags.butter.really, also enjoying gorse. Steers 30 and 35 were close by, eating leaves from the bushes. Everyone seemed happy and healthy.
The first group had moved to graze in the pasture southwest of ///note.sends.goods by 16:40. Steer 227 was relaxing, chewing his cud, but wandered through some swampy ground to say hello and enjoy a back rub.
The six Sussex cattle were grazing deep in the gorse bushes near ///items.funny.muted at the Shell garage end of the site at 17:10. Slowly, they emerged to say hello. The elusive steer 21 was with them and came over to greet me before starting to munch on leaves from the trees. Cow 1396 and steer 1626 remained in the bushes, but the sound of breaking branches gave away their position. They eventually popped their heads out and looked well.
The cows were all good today.
