Sussex steers 197, 210 and 1626, along with cows 211, 212 and 1396, were spread out grazing near ///leap.third.overture at 16:40 this afternoon. They were all enjoying plenty of grass and were very friendly, coming over to say hello, with several happily receiving back scratches. All six looked really well.
Steers 217 and 270 were munching on heather in the pasture near ///bitters.imply.spades at 16:55. Nearby, steers 219, 220, 230 and 271, along with cow 214, were grazing in the bushes along the path to the south. This group gradually joined the boys in the pasture. They were all happy, relaxed and in good condition.
By 17:20, steers 20, 30 and 1640, along with cows 234 and 940, were grazing near ///youth.vast.scoop. They looked great in the last of the afternoon sun. They were all happy and relaxed.
At 17:45, steers 33, 35, 222, 227, 228, along with cow 72, were grazing under the trees near ///aced.handrail.shack, enjoying lots of leaves. Soon after, steers 33 and 35 began to rest and chew their cud. Steer 227 came over to say hello and enjoyed a neck and ear rub.
I returned to check on the second group just after 18:00, and they were still happily grazing in the same pasture. Despite searching the surrounding area until it was completely dark, I couldn't find older steer 21 this evening. I've no idea where he was hiding.
The cows I did find were all good today.
