Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Tuesday 15th October - All 25 seen

A mixed group of ten cows was spotted on the slope near ///hops.racks.relay at 15.15 this afternoon. Sussex steer 197 and cow 211 were initially munching on heather, but soon lay down to rest. Cow 211 came and said hello and enjoyed a back rub before settling down. Sussex cows 212 and 1396, along with steers 210 and 1626, were already lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud. Steers 20, 21, 219 and 220 were also lying down nearby. They all looked well.

At 15:30, cow 940 was lying down, nestled in some bracken near ///tend.grab.tags, relaxing and chewing her cud. Cow 72 was grazing nearby, but soon joined her, looking like she was about to lie down as well. The girls both appeared happy and healthy.

Steers 35, 222 and 1640 were foraging for acorns under the trees near ///comic.trips.yards at 15:55. Although they weren't having much luck, they carried on searching. They were all happy, relaxed and looking well.

At 16:10, steers 30 and 33, along with cow 214, were lying down in the heather near ///blink.spun.speeches. Steer 217 was grazing nearby, while steer 230 and cow 234 were grazing in the thicket to the west. Steers 227 and 228 were grazing together near ///tiger.toast.reserving, while the yearlings 270 and 271 were grazing further west, near the path. All ten were looking well.

The cows were all good today.
