The cows were all back together and were happily grazing along Sandy Hill at 10:15 this morning. Most were spread out eating in the many gorse bushes, but they'd take a break and come out and say hello. Youngsters 215, 219 and 222 plus older cow 940 were a bit further west, munching on leaves from the bushes and grass at the side of the path.
I noticed that older cow 940 was occasionally walking a little tentatively on her rear right leg on the harder path. She was being a little cautious when placing her leg down on the ground. On softer ground, she was absolutely fine. I'll keep an eye on her over the next couple of days.
The herd started to come together at their favourite Sandy Hill corner from about 10:45. Older steers 21 and 30 were the last to wander along and join fifteen minutes later. Most of the cows were happily munching on grass on the corner itself. Several preferred to take a break, stand and relax, and chew their cud.
The cows were all good today.
