Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 7th January - All 19 seen

Steers 30, 217 and 270 were all grazing in the pasture opposite their favourite Sandy Hill corner at 09:50 this morning.  They were happy and enjoying the sunshine, despite the rather cold start.  Older cow 72 was enjoying leaves from the bushes near the fence line.  Cow 215 and steers 220 and 271 were grazing a bit further west, near the pill box.  By 10:20 all seven had started to wander west along Sandy Hill, grazing as they went.

A mixed group of ten cows were relaxing and chewing their cud in the area around ///storms.fronted.refills at 10:35.  They, too, were enjoying the sunshine.  Youngster 230 was munching on gorse in the surrounding bushes.  Older steer 35 was eating gorse in the bushes behind where the group of ten were standing.  He wandered round and joined them at 11:15.  Youngster 228 was the first to take the weight off his feet at 11:10.  Others soon lay down beside him.   The cows were super relaxed and friendly today, and it was so nice to spend some quiet time with them.

The initial group of seven cows had made it to the area around ///steep.clef.bind at 11:35.  They were continuing to graze and were still heading west, so looked likely to meet up with the second group soon.

The cows were all good today.
