Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Steers 20, 33, 219, 222, 227 and 228 plus cows 234 and 940 were all standing near the path to the south-east of Horse Pond at 09.40 this morning.  They were relaxing and chewing their cud.  Cows 72, 214 and 215 plus steers 230 and 271 were munching in the gorse bushes close by.  Several of the cows took a big drink from the pond.  Shortly before 10:00, older steers 21 and 35 appeared from the thicket to the north-east and joined the group.

Soon after, the cows crossed over to the pasture to the south of the pond and started to munch on lots of heather.  They gradually made their way up the side of Sandy Hill, grazing as they went.  When they got to the top, cows 72, 215 and 940 plus yearling 271 all wandered along to their favourite corner to munch on some grass.  The others grazed around ///grand.enjoys.pill.

The other four steers were all found in the area around ///guard.navigate.nicely at 10:40.  Youngster 220 was happily munching on gorse.  Older steer 30 and youngster 217 were eating in the thicket.  Yearling 270 was out in the open, relaxing and chewing his cud.  After a while, he was joined by youngsters 217 and 219.  This group were all looking well.

Older cow 940 appeared to be walking fine today.  She had no issues wandering through the thicket and up the slope of Sandy Hill.

The cows were all good today.
