Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Wednesday 10th January - All 19 seen

Cows 215 and 234 plus steer 222 were found in the area around ///torched.width.slid at noon.  They were having a drink from a hidden pool of water beside some bushes before starting to graze.  Steers 20, 21, 33, 35, 217 and 220 were all munching on gorse in the area around ///sporting.later.relies ten minutes later.  Steers 33 and 220 were deep in the gorse bushes, but both came out into the open to be checked.  The first three soon came along and joined up with the boys, where they started to relax and chew their cud in the sunshine.  Cow 215 was very friendly today, and wandered over to say hello and receive an ear rub while standing chewing her cud.

Steers 30, 219, 228, 270 and cow 72 were all found around ///binds.humid.states at 12.35.  Steers 30 and 219 were lying down, relaxing, and were soon joined by steers 228 and 270.  Cow 72 was standing in the sunshine chewing her cud.  Cows 214 and 940 plus yearling 271 were munching on gorse on the higher ground to the south-west of where the first five were found.  Steer 230 was out in the open munching on heather.  He soon lay down in the sunshine.  Steer  227 took a bit of finding today, and was round at ///unsightly.wool.alas.  He was munching on gorse, but stopped to come and say hello.

James Bond pond wasn't frozen, but had some ice around its edges.  I broke the ice on numerous puddles near to where both sets of cows were found.

The cows were all good today.
