Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 11th January - All 19 seen

Older cows 72 and 940 were lying down resting around ///befitting.polished.blush at 13:05 this afternoon.  Steers 30 and 228 plus cow 214 were grazing in the gorse bushes to their east.  Steers 227, 230, 270 and 271 were all lying down together around ///known.perusing.hunt.  They were all looking very snug buried in some heather.  Youngster 219 was munching on gorse behind them.  This group were all looking well.

Steer 20 was found grazing in the area around ///ramming.fuses.charts at 13:40.  Steers 33, 35 and 220 plus cows 215 and 234 were all lying down a bit further north around ///valued.kilts.deep.   They were all relaxing and chewing their cud while keeping warm in some heather.  Youngster 222 was happily eating some gorse close by.  Steers 21 and 217 had gone through the gorse bushes and out the other side.  Youngster 217 was munching on gorse, while older steer 21 was eating heather close by.  This group were also all looking good.

I broke the ice on several large puddles close to where both sets of cows were found.

The cows were all good today.
