Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 18th May - All 25 seen

The eighteen original cows were mostly lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud in the area around ///author.deal.finds at 09:55 this morning.  Steer 33 was initially munching on leaves from the bushes, but soon lay down.  Most of the cows were resting under the shade of the trees.  They were all happy, relaxed and looking well.  They'd occasionally get up, have a stretch, reposition and lie back down.  Steers 20, 30 and 222 were sitting on their own little grass island opposite the main group.

The seven Sussex cattle were found under the trees to the southeast, in the area around ///chef.trash.riots at 10:25.  Six were lying down, resting and chewing their cud, with steer 1626 up and about grazing on leaves.  They, too, were all happy, relaxed and looking well.

Returning to the first group at 10:40 and steers 33 and 227 had joined the gang of three on their grass island.  Youngster 219 was having a little snooze while lying on his side.  The others were either resting or chewing their cud.

Cow 940's ear was looking a lot cleaner today, and still had some of the remnants of the antibiotic spray on it.   She was resting and happily chewing her cud.

Thank you for spraying the cows.  And thank you for checking on Brie's ear and applying the antibiotics 👍.

The cows were all good today.
