At 16:30 this afternoon, a mixed group of thirteen of the original cows were spread out over a large area between ///baths.slip.touchy and ///salsa.dizzy.aboard. Youngsters 217 and 219 were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud. Youngster 222 was standing alongside. The others were well spread out, enjoying lots of fresh grass in the sunshine. They were all happy, relaxed and looking well.
The seven Sussex cattle were all lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud in the area around ///argued.century.ethic at 16:55. Most were trying to hide in the bracken. There were many flies around today and sadly the Sussex cattle seemed to be the worst affected. Otherwise, they were all fine.
Steers 35 and 227 plus cow 72 were spread out munching on grass in the area around ///laws.slice.lies at 17:10. Cow 214 was standing in the middle of them, chewing her cud. Steer 21 was on the other side of the track, lying down, relaxing. All five were looking good.
I didn't think cow 940's ear was looking too good today. It still appears to be infected and looks like it could do with a clean and some more antibiotic spray. Otherwise, she appeared absolutely fine. She came and said hello and was happily eating lots of grass.
There are currently some contractors on site constructing a new fence. They've got the fence posts up all the way along the main path from near where the Sussex cattle were sitting to ///salaried.ended.tiles. They've also extended the fence right across the central part of the site. Unfortunately, they don't seem particularly good at picking up their used concrete bags.
The cows were all good today.
