Steers 21 and 222 plus the three British Whites, cows 214 and 234 plus steer 227, were all lying down on their favourite Sandy Hill corner at 10:05 this morning. They were all relaxing and chewing their cud in the warm sunshine. They were all looking well.
The seven Sussex cattle were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud in the area to the northwest of Horse Pond around ///reap.gobbles.speaks at 10:20. Cow 211 soon got up and came over to say hello and was happy to receive an ear rub. As a reward, I got four licks to the back of my hand.
Steers 33, 35, 217, 220 and 228 were grazing in the area around ///chaos.tiles.golf just after 10:30. They were all happy, relaxed and enjoying the sunshine. Buzz (steer 35) even came and said hello this morning.
Steers 230 and 271 were lying down, relaxing in the area around ///fracture.neatly.folk at 10:40. Yearling 271 soon got up, had a big stretch and came and stood beside youngster 230. They were both well.
The final six were found just along from the Lookout. Steers 20 and 30 plus cow 72 were lying down in the heather, relaxing. Steers 219 and 270 were happily grazing. Cow 940 was also munching on lots of fresh grass. Her ear still looked nice and clean today, with no real noticeable difference from yesterday. She was good.
As I was preparing to leave, steers 230 and 271 had got up and were grazing in the area around ///prominent.leave.after. Three of the Sussex cattle were about 100 metres further east along the track. The other four were grazing at the side of Horse Pond, but soon joined the group.
At 11:40, cows 214 and 234 plus steers 222 and 227 had switched positions, but were still resting on their favourite corner. Older steer 21 was grazing in the pasture opposite.
The cows were all good this morning. Got even more trigger-happy than normal with the photos today 🤭.
