Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Cows 72, 214 and 940 plus steer 33 were found in the cow shed at 10:05 this morning. Cow 940 was lying down, relaxing. The others were standing and chewing their cud. They were all happy and looking well. After about ten minutes, yearling 270 appeared from the trees to the west and wandered over, crossing over the wooden foot bridge. He soon joined the other four cows in the shed. The seven Sussex cattle were all lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud in the area around ///nicely.stag.crypt at 10:30. Most were lying down in the bracken. They were sadly attracting the flies today. They were all looking good, though. The other thirteen Caesar's originals were found lying down in the pasture to the north of James Bond pond around ///sage.hostels.drags at 10:55. Most were relaxing and chewing their cud, with a few having a snooze. Steer 227 was lying down on his side for a while, properly relaxing. There was a nice, refreshing rain shower at 11:20. The cows didn't move and seemed to enjoy being cooled down. They were all happy, relaxed and looking well. As I was leaving, the first five were still in the cow shed. Cow 940 was still lying down, resting, so I didn't get the opportunity to see how she was walking today. Yearling 270 was lying down beside her. The other three were still standing. I said goodbye to them shortly before noon. The cows were all good today.
