The original eighteen Caesar's cows were found in the area around ///exams.duos.spun at 12:45 this afternoon. Most were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud. Steers 35, 217, 220 and 230 were all happily grazing. They were soon joined by steer 227, who got up and came to say hello before joining the boys. The cows would occasionally get up, have a stretch and lie back down. They were all looking well.
Six of the Sussex cows were lying down among the bushes around ///splits.loudly.marsh at the far eastern end of Sandy Hill at 13:25. They were all happy, relaxed and looking really well. Cow 212 soon got up and came and said hello. Despite a good search of the woods on Hungry Hill, a walk along the paths at the top and bottom of Sandy Hill and a good look around Horse Pond, I couldn't find steer 1626 today. When I left the group of six at 14:20, they had all got up and crossed over onto the slope of Sandy Hill, where they were all happily grazing. There was a large military training exercise going on in the area to the northwest, but the cows weren't being put off by the gunfire, smoke and loud bangs.
As I was leaving at 14:30, I walked past the first group of cows again, who were mostly all grazing but steer 1626 wasn't with them.
I managed to make it back to the site at 16:45, and found five of the Sussexes grazing on both sides of the track around ///piled.give.erupt. I suspect they hadn't long got up from a rest. Cow 211 was her usual friendly self and came and said hello. It had begun to lightly rain, and the cows all wandered down to the trees at the west end of Horse Pond. From there, I was able to spot cow 1396 and steer 1626 lying down in the heather to the north around ///greed.chain.bedding. The others soon wandered up and started to graze around them. By 17:40, all seven headed off to the northwest, grazing as they went. The military training was still going on.
The cows were all good today.
