Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 6th June - All 25 seen

The eighteen Caesar's original cows were spread out grazing on all sides of the covered reservoir at 17:00 this afternoon.  They were all eating lots of long grass.  The cows were all happy, relaxed and looking well.  They were all friendly, with several coming over to say hello.

About forty minutes later, the cows had started to gather around ///forum.unfit.spotted.  Several had waded through the swampy ground to the southeast of the reservoir, and as a result, had really muddy legs.  The cows started to relax and chew their cud.  Steers 21 and 33 wandered off together soon after, and ended up grazing around ///turned.text.hazy near the Gelvert fence line.  When I returned to the main group, they were all resting or eating fresh grass.

The seven Sussex cattle were together in the area around ///dishes.billiard.info at 18:00.  They were all eating the grass growing between the swathes of bracken in the area.  Cow 211 came wandering through the dense bracken to say hello and get an ear and neck rub.  She was very friendly again this evening.  The cows continued to graze southeast, ending up in the gorse bushes near the main path.  They were all happy and healthy.

As I was getting ready to leave at 18:20, the first group had moved east to the area around ///sugars.data.irritate.  Most of the cows were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud.  Youngster 228 and yearling 270 were still grazing.  Steers 21 and 33 were seen in the distance, wandering back towards the main group.

Brie's (cow 940) ear was looking okay today as it continues to heal.  There is a new photo below.  There was still no change to the lump on Gary's (steer 228) face.  Its been eleven days, so I was hoping things would start to get better.

The cows were all good today.
