Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

The original eighteen Caesar's cows were all found around ///taker.bring.trade at the Royal Pavilion end of the site at 08:50 this morning.  Sixteen were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud.  Youngster 230 and yearling 271 were happily munching on fresh grass.  They both soon lay down to relax.  The cows would occasionally get up, have a big stretch and reposition before lying back down.  Cow 72 must have known there was going to be a few drops of rain, as she went and lay down under a tree.  The cows were all happy, relaxed and looking well.

Brie's (cow 940) ear continues to heal nicely.  It still looks fairly clean with no signs of infection.  There was still no change to the lump on Gary's (steer 228) face.  He was fine, and was happily lying down and relaxing, chewing his cud.  New photos below for reference.

The seven Sussex cattle were all lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud around ///foggy.giggles.smoke at 09:35.  Steers 197 and 210 were lying down beside cows 211 and 1396.  Cow 212 and steers 1626 and 1640 were lying together a little to the southwest.  Cow 211 soon got up and wandered over to say hello.  She enjoyed a nice ear rub.  Soon after, steer 210 got up and thoroughly enjoyed a shoulder and back rub.  I received a few gentle head rubs as a thank you when he'd had enough.  The Sussex cows were all looking well, and had started to graze when I left them around 10:15.

The cows were all good today.
