Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Steers 30, 35, 219, 222, 227, 230 and 271 were all lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud in the area around ///flames.hack.growl at 16:20 this afternoon.  Cows 214 and 234 were standing nose to tail, doing a fantastic job of keeping the flies off each other.  Steer 35 had tried his best to hide in among some small trees.  The cows were all good, but there was a large presence of flies that were frustrating them.

Older steer 21 was munching on leaves from the trees around ///ripples.legs.jetliner at 16.45.  Yearling 270 was grazing close by.  Steers 33 and 217 had just started to wander off in the direction of the first group as I was approaching.  I walked back along and checked they were okay after checking the boys.  All four were happy and looked well.

Sussex cows 211, 212 and 1396 plus steer 1626 were all lying down in the heather around ///joke.geek.stadium at 17:05.  Steers 210 and 1640 were grazing, but soon lay down.  Cow 211 got up and came and said hello and enjoyed a long back scratch.  All six were good.  Steer 197 took a bit of finding today.  He had buried himself in some bushes around a large tree on the opposite side of the track around ///locator.saunas.political.   He was completely fine and was enjoying some alone time.

I wandered past the first group again at 17.40 and steers 21 and 270 had joined the group.  All thirteen were lying down, resting.

The final five, cows 72 and 940 plus steers 21, 220 and 228, were found eating heather in the area around ///aunts.binds.chiefs not too far from Horse Pond at 18:05.  They were grazing in a north-westerly direction.  They were all happy, relaxed and looking well.  I said my goodbyes just after 18:30.

The cows were all good today.
