Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

The seven Sussex cattle were found around making.blemishes.burns on Sandy Hill at 16:20 this afternoon.  Steer 210 was lying down with cows 211 and 212 by his side.  Cow 1396 was standing behind them.  They were all relaxing and chewing their cud.  Steer 1640 came over and said hello before lying down nearby.  Steer 1626 was standing on the opposite site of the path, chewing his cud.  The final steer 197 was initially grazing but went and stood under the shade of some nearby trees.  It had clouded over by the time I left them, but they were all still happy, relaxed and looking well.  There were a lot of flies about today.

Sixteen of the original Caesar's group were found near James Bond pond in the area around ///goose.admiral.reports at 16:45.  Most were lying down resting in the heather, with a few still standing.  They were well spread out and were all relaxing and chewing their cud.  Older steers 21 and 30 were initially standing under the trees to the southeast, but soon wandered over and lay down.  By 17:15, all eighteen cows were lying down and happily relaxing.  They were all looking well.

The cows were all good today.
