Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 20th October - All 19 seen

The cows were still in the same two groups as yesterday.

Older cows 20, 21, 30, 33, 35, 72 and 940 plus youngsters 227 and 228 were all found grazing in the sunshine at 15:15 this afternoon.  They were well spread out, but were all munching on grass and heather in the area around ///cactus.stung.easily.  The cows were all happy and relaxed.  They were all nice and dry and appeared unaffected by last night's heavy rain.

Youngsters 214, 215, 217, 219, 222 and 230 plus yearlings 270 and 271 were all lying down resting in the area around ///lower.alpha.cherub at 16.10.  They were either relaxing and chewing their cud or having a little snooze.  Youngsters 220 and 234 were up and about munching on heather and leaves from the nearby bushes.  By 16:30 they had all got up, had a stretch and wandered out to munch on the grass by the main path.  They went off grazing in the direction of Beacon Hill Road.  This group were all happy and relaxed too.

The cows were all good today.
