Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 8th October - All 19 seen

A mixed group of fourteen cows were well spread out around ///axed.sector.give at 10:20 this morning.  Older cows 35 and 940 were happily munching on long grass and heather in the warm sunshine.  The other twelve were all hunting for acorns and going by the crunching, they were finding some.  Youngster 234 was doing a spot of hill climbing, hoovering up acorns that had fallen from the overhanging trees.  The cows were all very relaxed and looking well this morning.

The other five cows, youngsters 215, 217, 219, 222 and 230, were found grazing around ///fence.depth.tasks on Sandy Hill at 11:15.  They were all happily munching on the fresh grass as they wandered.  They stopped and had a drink from one of the puddles before carrying on to the pasture opposite their favourite Sandy Hill corner, where they continued to munch on grass and gorse.  It was lovely to spend some relaxing time with them today.

As I was leaving at about 12:15, cows 20, 35, 214, 220, 227, 228, 234 and 271 were standing relaxing and chewing their cud in the trees around ///keys.rides.cargo.  Older steer 21 and yearling 270 were found close by and were making their way to this group.  Older steer 33 was grazing by himself around ///doll.frost.petal.  Cows 30, 72 and 940 were relaxing in the cow shed.

The cows were all good today.
