Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

The cows were still in the same two groups as yesterday.

The mixed group of fourteen cows were found in the area around ///store.card.debate at 11:15 this morning.  Cows 20, 30, 33, 35, 227, 228 and 940 were happily grazing in the warm sunshine.  Cows 72, 214, 234, 270 and 271 were together in the trees behind and had formed an acorn hunting gang.  They were being quite successful based on the crunching.  Older steer 21 and youngster 220 were munching on long grass to the side of them.  By 11:55 the cows had all come out of the trees and started to relax and chew their cud in the sun.  Older cows 21 and 940 lay down in the shade under the trees on opposites sides of Sunny Hill Road.

Youngsters 215, 217, 222 and 230 were all happily grazing in the sunshine in the area around ///grins.printer.apron at 12:25.  They were enjoying the grass and heather.  Youngster 219 had followed the path round to the west and was munching on grass around ///worry.grub.swift.  The other four soon wandered round and joined him.  I had just finished checking youngster 219 when I met Chris and Graham who were carrying out their site checks.  After they left, the cows stood and chewed their cud in the shade for a while before wandering down the hill towards the Shell Garage end of the site.

The cows were all good today.
