Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Sunday 22nd October - All 19 seen - Cow 234 has scratch on right hand side of neck

Youngster 215 was standing in the sunshine, relaxing and chewing her cud around ///beats.gosh.dirt at 09:45 this morning.  She was very friendly and was happy to receive a head rub.  Whenever I stopped, she nudged me to restart 🤣.

Youngsters 214, 217, 222 and 228 were standing close by, at //among.shares.exit.  Over the next twenty-five minutes, cows 20, 30, 35, 219, 220, 230, 234, 270 and 271 all emerged from the trees to the south-east, where they had been grazing, and came and stood alongside them.  As youngster 234 wandered out from foraging for acorns, I noticed she had a scratch on the right-hand side of her neck.  She was okay, and it didn't appear to be causing her any issues.

Older cows 72 and 940 were found together around ///chimp.atom.toxic at 10:20.  They were both hunting for acorns, with cow 940 stopping to munch on some heather.  After a while, the group of fourteen wandered along and joined them.  They all continued to hunt for acorns before they set off, grazing in a westerly direction.

After a very, very long search of the site, I eventually found the three missing steers around ///relegate.sparrows.logged at 12:45.  Steers 21 and 33 were hunting for acorns in the trees.  Youngster 227 was munching on grass and leaves among the bracken.  He soon came out and said hello.

The other sixteen cows had made it to ///column.dent.desks by 13:00.  Cows 30 and 940 were lying down, relaxing.  The other fourteen were spread out grazing.

The cows were all good today. (Sorry, got a bit carried away with the photos).
