Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 11th April - All 26 seen

A mixed group of twelve cows were found in the area around ///micro.paid.kinder at 16:25 this afternoon.  Sussex steer 210 and cow 1396 were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud.  Steers 21, 33, 35, 197, 227, 230, 1626 and 1640 plus cows 211 and 212 were all spread out, grazing nearby.  It looked like they hadn't long got up.  They were all happy and relaxed.  The Sussex cattle were attracting a number of flies today.

Seven of the Caesar's originals plus the three British White girls were found down near the Bourley Road at 17:05.  They were widely spread out from cow 72 in the area around ///chills.chiefs.havens to steer 20 around ///reverted.push.nurses with cows 214, 215, 234 and 940 plus steers 217, 219, 270 and 271 grazing between them.  I've no idea what cows 214 and 215 had been up to, but they had a lot of mud on the left-hand side of their heads.  The cows all slowly wandered towards the area where steer 20 was eating.   They were all looking well.

Steers 30, 220, 222 and 228 were having an away day and were found in the area around ///logged.stick.tasks at 18:25.  They were all enjoying lots of grass, gorse and heather.  The boys were all happy, relaxed and looking really well.

The cows were all good today.
