Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Wednesday 3rd April - All 26 seen

The fifteen Caesar's originals and British White cow 234 were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud in the area around ///ramp.poet.modes at 15:30.  Cow 215 was up and about and was enjoying some grass nearby.  They were all happy and looking well.  At 15:50, I heard a loud moo and looked to the southeast to see cow 214 far in the distance.  She wandered through the thicket, mooing twice more, before stopping to graze fairly close to where the cows were lying.  She was good.

The seven Sussex cows and British White steer 227 were at the far end of the pasture opposite their favourite Sandy Hill corner around ///aquatic.pigs.steady at 16:15.  Cow 212 and steer 1626 were standing chewing their cud.  Steers 197 and 1640 plus cows 211 and 1396 were lying down huddled together resting.  Steer 227 was lying down just in front of them.  Steer 210 was grazing to the side.  They were all happy, relaxed and looking well.

The cows were all good today.
